Further police protests in Porto

Following last week’s mass demonstration of PSP and GNR agents, the platform that represents the 11 syndicates fighting for earnings parity with the PJ (judicial police) will be holding a new action in Porto’s Largo 1º Dezembro from 5.30pm today. Thousands of police are expected, and the message remains: ‘these protests will not stop until our demands are answered’. This is (yet) another issue that will ride high in Portugal’s election campaign which appears to remain ‘wide open’, with no political party assured of success.
