Furniture shop Casa Curiosa in Almancil has expanded extensively since owner Harm Tor first opened the premises four years ago.
An ambitious expansion began last summer as part of a plan to refresh and solidify strong brand recognition. The shop has been painted in a strong orange, Holland’s national colour, to signify the owners’ Dutch origins along with the shop itself being expanded. Originally, the company started with a 400 sqft shop; now the Almancil location has grown to 1500 sqft.
Casa Curiosa has also begun working alongside Importeco Lda, kitchen suppliers with showrooms in Lagoa and Boliqueime, who are featuring furniture supplied by the company.
The company has also just completed a furnishing project in a resort in Spain, called La Ciguena. They are providing economical furniture packages for apartments and villas in addition to large commercial contract interior and outdoor furnishings.
Casa Curiosa continues to maintain an extensive inventory of indoor and outdoor tables, chairs, beds, mattresses and sofas while continuing to have one of the largest stocks of teak furniture in the Algarve.
The motivation to start the business came primarily because Harm felt there was a void in the Algarve marketplace for competitively priced, high quality garden furniture.
The Casa Curiosa shop is located on the EN125 on the way to Faro, 150 meters passed São Lourenço church.
