A total of €3,000 was raised during the Spirit of Christmas fairs held earlier this month at Oceano Atlântico in Portimão and Barringtons at Vale do Lobo.
Organised by Alison Slater of Collections and Linda Taylor Gonçalves of the Griffin Bookshop, the fairs were manned by supporters of the Madrugada and ACCA charities, beneficiaries of the funds.
Alison’s husband, Richard Greening, was involved in arranging the fairs: “ The management at Oceano Atlântico let us have the use of their enormous ground floor function room without charge again, so we were able to accommodate more than 30 stands comfortably, with plenty of room for the public.”
And, he added: “The new owners and management of Barringtons also let us have the use of their premises without charge.”
Suzi Steinhofel of DesignWorks! designed and arranged the advertising with the local press, including the Algarve Resident, sponsors of the fairs.
