The Lagos delegation of the Portuguese Red Cross will be holding a charity dinner to help raise money for the survivors of the devastating cyclone that caused immeasurable damage in Mozambique in March.
The event will be held on Saturday, June 15 at the L’Escargot restaurant in Montinhos da Luz and will begin at 7pm with welcome cocktails, while the dinner will start at 8.30pm.
Price is €55 with all proceeds going directly to the people “affected by the catastrophes in Mozambique”. Reservations can be made until June 11.
“We are counting on you to help us to make a difference. Come and be a part of this cause,” says the Lagos Red Cross delegation.
Mozambique was one of the countries decimated by Cyclone Idai, one of the worst tropical cyclones on record to affect Africa and the Southern Hemisphere. The storm caused damage described as “catastrophic” in Mozambique, Zimbabwe, and Malawi, with a death toll of over 1,000 and thousands missing.
If you cannot make the dinner, you can contribute to the cause by donating via bank transfer to the Red Cross:
