This year, the Tavira Fundraisers is holding a pre-Christmas buffet dinner on Saturday, December 4, from 7.30pm, at Restaurant Val-Del Rei, in Pedras Del Rei, near Santa Lucia.
All proceeds will go to the Canil de São Francisco in Loulé, which gives shelter to abandoned and neglected animals. The group raises funds for vet bills and food for the dogs and cats. The Fundraisers welcomes any support for these animals in great need.
The event includes a delicious buffet meal, consisting of soup, a selection of eight salads, fish, meat, potatoes and vegetables and a choice of two puddings. Drinks are included in the price (22 euros) and there will also be a DJ.
The venue is situated at Pedras Del Rei, which is three to four kilometres outside of Tavira, on the right hand side of the EN125 if you are coming from the Faro direction. Take the Pedras Del Rei turning, drive down towards the sea and the restaurant is on the edge of a holiday complex on the right hand side, before you get to Barril beach. Coming from Tavira, go past the cemetery on the EN125 for approximately three to four kilometres and take the Pedras Del Rei turning on the left.
On Saturday, November 20, between 9am and noon, the Fundraisers is holding a Bazaar at Tavira Gardens, a development with a restaurant and bar on the EN125, two to three kilometres outside Tavira towards Vila Real de Santo António.
The Bazaar will be held in the bar area of the complex and will feature bric-a-brac, nearly-new clothing, books, arts and crafts, fashionable jewellery, porcelain, curries and home-made produce. The Fundraisers will be happy to receive any unwanted items that you would generously like to donate. But please – no old socks!
