Fundraiser walk from Ponta da Piedade

Seven-year-old Marley Inácio who lives in the Algarve and was born with several medical conditions including muscular dystrophy and global delay has undergone years of treatment and hundreds of hospital visits. His mother Kate recently made the decision to start fundraising for a series of operations which will help alleviate some of the discomfort Marley suffers as a result of his conditions.

The only hospital in Europe with the medical team able or willing to perform these complicated neurosurgical procedures is in Barcelona. The cost of treatment pre- and post-op along with the cost of the operations themselves is €80,000.

As part of this fundraising effort, Aljezur International School has organised a sponsored walk which will take place on Friday, October 19. Last year the school raised over €4,000 in their first March for Marley which was in aid of funds for the electric chair that Marley so desperately needed.

Meet at the car park of Ponta da Piedade at 10am for a 10km walk to the beach in Praia da Luz. For more information and sponsor forms call 914447710 or email karen@aljezur-international.org
