Function of SIRESP, Portugal’s emergency communications network, to go out to international tender from July

Portugal’s Ministry of Internal Administration has said that future contracts with private operators to guarantee the function of emergency communications network SIRESP will go out to international tender from July. The current contract with Altice/ Motorola runs till the end of this month. There has been ‘controversy’ over the contract as the government has been very slow in paying Altice for its running costs (click here).
