Fun-filled nights promised at Quarteira’s summer market

Event takes place every night until September 10

Last Friday marked the start of Quarteira’s ‘Mercado de Verão’ (Summer Market), a series of daily markets held every night at Jardim Filipe Jonas until September 10.

According to Loulé Council, the event is based around four concepts – entertainment, music, handicraft and gastronomy.

Visitors can expect a wide range of attractions, including children’s entertainment such as carousels and bumper cars, musical performances (starting from July 3), regional and national craftspeople, and street food.

Musical performers will mostly include local and regional bands, while dance and folklore performances are also planned.

The market takes place every day starting at 7.30pm and ending at midnight between Sunday and Thursday and to 1am on Friday and Saturday. Admission is free.

The event is organised by Loulé Council and Quarteira Parish Council and aims to create a new point of attraction for local residents and tourists that will act as an alternative to the beachside ‘Calçadão’.
