A ‘fun day’ held at the home of Sally and Bill Sykes in Vilamoura last month raised more than €1,000 in aid of the animals at the new Goldra Dog Sanctuary.
Cricket, rounders, tennis, table tennis, pool and croquet were available for those with a sporty nature and lunch was served later for those attending.
Goldra volunteers would like to thank Sally and Bill for the use of their premises as well as those who contributed towards the lunch, ran stalls and helped generally.
Funds raised will go towards veterinary expenses at the rescue centre.
