The 2010 World Superbike and Supersport season gets underway in Portimão next weekend (starting on January 22) with three days of official testing at the Algarve Motor Park.
The venue for the second stage of the World Championship this year, following Phillip Island, has scheduled full scale practice sessions for both disciplines from 8.30am to 4.40pm on the coming Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
At the same time, Algarve Motor Park owners Parkalgar have announced that main stand tickets for the March 26 to 28 big event proper will be on a special ‘Buy 4 for the price of 3’ offer until January 31, with the additional benefit of granting holders access to all spectator areas around the track while children under 12 years of age enjoy free admittance if accompanied by a paying adult.
Home Parkalgar Honda Team riders Miguel Praia and 2009 world title runner-up Eugene Laverty will be competing at both of the above events and hoping for plenty of local support.
Finally, the success of the recent ‘Formula Sport’ non-motorised day at the track has prompted organisers to repeat the experience on October 31 of this year with the addition of simultaneous ‘body combat’ and ‘body pump’ classes- entry is free and the activities suitable for all.
