Full of French fancy

Images by French artists Jean Paul and Florence (Flock) Clayette are now on permanent display at the Galeria Corte-Real in Paderne.

Last year the couple spent time in the Algarve painting in the countryside around the village and visiting the gallery after being attracted to the region because of its reputation for quality of light.

The artists create vibrant life studies, with Flock using raw pigments combined with sand, ink and overlays of tissue and Jean Paul using graphite, pastels and paints in his work.

The exhibition is the only one of its kind in Portugal with the works being shown exclusively at the gallery.

The gallery is open Thursday to Sunday from 11am until 5pm.
