Full house for Chaine des Rôtisseurs

A “very Portuguese dinner” was held by the Algarve Bailliage of the Chaine des Rôtisseurs at restaurant O Barradas, between Lagoa and Silves, on March 9.

The 38 members and guests sampled the restaurant’s highlights, including the traditional baked wild fish, a Stone Bass (Cherne), and the Mirandesa “free roaming veal” served with homemade fig chutney.

The five courses were complemented by five wines from all regions of Portugal from the Minho (Vinho Verde Soalheiro) to the Alentejo (Quinta de Quetzal Reserva 2008).

The Chaine’s next event will be a weekend in the Alentejo on March 23-25 in aid of the Chaine Foundation, the charity arm of the association, and on April 14 there will be a lunch at associate restaurant Vista on the Monte Rei golf course in Castro Marim.

Any proceeds raised during the events will go to charity through the Chaine Foundation.

For more information about the Chaine, please contact the Bailli Provincial Jean Ferran at email [email protected] or telephone (+351) 282 912 822.
