Fuel supply at risk

Some GALP fuel stations may experience fuel shortages later this month after refinery workers announced they would be going on strike over pay.

The company has offered a 1.3 per cent pay rise this year but the workers union demanded a 2.8 per cent increase, announcing a strike between April 19 and 21.

Although some fuel stations may be affected by the shortage of fuel, the strike will not affect the fuel reserves of the country.

President of Galp Manuel Ferreira de Oliveira called for “common sense” of the workers not to proceed with it.
