Fuel prices rose again this Monday. This is the third consecutive week to record an increase and the fifth week since the beginning of the year. The across-the-board hike in the prices of petrol and diesel has to do with the devaluation of the Euro compared with the Dollar (the trade currency for crude oil), as well as the increase of the petrol and diesel retail prices in international markets. After last week’s price hike, the reference price for petrol 95 now stands at €1.664 while diesel stands at €1.459. Since January, the price of fuel has only decreased once. See Galp story on page 10.
