Fuel prices online

PETROL STATIONS will have to advertise their prices on the state department of Energy and Geology, Direcção-Geral de Energia e Geologia, website from next year.

The new regulation was approved at the weekly Ministers Meeting on October 9.

Through the official website, petrol station owners registered in Portugal will have to register and update their prices regularly.

This measure is part of a larger plan from the government, named Simplex, which is expected to reduce general bureaucracy in the country.

Following the meeting, the secretary of state for Industry, Castro Guerra, said: “This is an important step so that drivers may have more options when they fill up their cars and will also help increase competition through a simple but efficient system.”
