Fuel price listings

FROM JANUARY 3, petrol stations across the country will be publishing their fuel prices via a government website.

The new law, published on the governmental website, Diário da República (www.dre.pt), details other requirements that need to be met by petrol stations on the website including their opening times and location.

Petrol station owners have to apply to the ministry of energy and geology for their place on the website after which they will have 10 days to ask for an access password.  When they have completed the mandatory registration, it will then be the responsibility of each petrol station to constantly update their prices.

Those who fail to comply in providing current information for customers face fines between 250 and 30,000 euros.
