THE GOOD Time Jazz Band is a professional, six-piece Dixieland jazz band, notable for their entertainment value, versatility and reputation as a fun band. This year, the band has gained many prestigious concert bookings, as far ahead as September.
From the beginning of April, they start a six-month, weekly Saturday gig at Vale do Lobo’s Praça, June sees the start of a summer season at the Sheraton Hotel on Thursdays, and there are enquiries from four other prime resorts and hotels. A four-day engagement at the third Cantanhede International Dixieland Festival starts on June 8, and the following week the band will be at the Odemira Jazz Festival.
In August, the band plays a jazz concert in the Azores and, later in the month, another in Sesimbra. In-between, there are a number of private engagements and international conferences.
Their latest CD, Pushing The Boat Out, which you can buy at Fnac stores, has recently been reviewed by leading British jazz critic, Brian Harvey, writing for Just Jazz‚ Jazz Gazette and New Orleans Music‚ as well as internet website www.radiojazz.co.uk, where one of their tracks, Buddy’s Habit, was recently featured.
