Mexico, one of Portugal’s group rivals, has managed to beat European opposition for the first time in three years. Fonseca and Huiqui were on the mark in Phoenix, Arizona, after Rosa Denes’ dismissal had reduced Hungary to 10 men. Mexico will still take on Norway, South Korea and Paraguay before the tournament kicks off. Portugal’s warm up campaign will include matches against Cape Verde and Luxembourg on May 27 and June 3 as well as a game against a stronger side on March 1, yet to be decided.
