An 18-year-old French girl died on Saturday night (August 1) after falling from the sixth floor of the Rocha Tower building in Praia da Rocha, Portimão.
All that is known so far is that the girl was on holiday with her family.
The family are understood to have been staying in the building on the V3 avenue – 150 metres from the beach.
Rescue services were called to the scene at 8.17pm but resuscitation attempts failed and the teen was declared dead at the spot.
Portimão mayoress Isilda Gomes told Lusa she knows just as little as everyone else but confirmed the young girl’s family was on holiday in Rocha.
PJ police are investigating.
