A French national, aged 52, fell to his death this morning at the Tahiti waterfall, in Serra do Gerês. According to reports, he was crossing the waterfall, in the company of family members, when he slipped and fell some metres into the water, where he remained submerged. Early reports explain authorities faced difficulties recovering the body. Last summer, CNN Portugal carried a short text concerning 12 deaths at the waterfall since 2012. The apparent risks posed by the waterfall saw local mayor António José Leite prohibit swimming at the site.
