Monchique will be celebrating New Year with three performances by alternative French circus group ‘Cheptel Aleikoum, Circa Tsuica’ on December 29, 30 and 31.
Entitled ‘Maintenant ou Jamais’ (Now or Never), the shows featuring musicians and acrobats promise to be “unforgettable”.
Trampoline and trapeze acts will be just some of the delights proving that circuses can dazzle without the use of caged animals.
Performances will be held at Monchique’s heliport starting each night at 9pm.
The first two shows will last for around two hours, with the New Year’s performance continuing until after midnight.
Tickets cost €5 for adults and €2.50 for children under 12. Children aged between three and six can only attend the event if booked beforehand.
Free parking will be available near the heliport.
Tickets are available online at https://lavraromar.bol.pt or at CTT post offices, El Corte Inglês, FNAC, Worten, Pousadas de Juventude, Serveasy, Espaço + in Aljezur and Monchique’s municipal library.
There will also be a ticket office at the heliport two hours before the start of the shows.
