A number of sports pitches have been set up at the Praia Grande beach in Ferragudo and will be open to the public until August 31, Lagoa council has announced.
It’s all part of the ‘Animação Desportiva 2015’ project, which aims to attract more people to the municipality’s beaches during the summer season.
The sports area set up at the beach features a variety of pitches where beach-goers will be able to play footvolley, beach football, volleyball and handball.
It will be open between 10am and 7pm and can be used by anyone for free.
The sports area will also be the setting for a number of official events this summer, such as the National Championship of Footvolley on August 8 and 9 and the National Canoeing Championship on September 12.
