PORTUGAL TELECOM (PT) is offering free local, regional and national phone calls every Sunday until June 13. A PT spokesperson revealed that the decision was the result of a settlement of a legal dispute between the telecom giant and the Portuguese Consumer Association (DECO). Back in 1998 and 1999, DECO accused PT of illegally overcharging consumers. DECO won the ensuing court battle and two organisations signed an agreement, which stated that PT must offer free phone calls or offer their customers a refund. To make free phone calls, dial 1070 before the number you are calling between midnight on Saturday and midnight on Sunday.
