IMAGINE AN ideal world, where a golf professional helps you improve your game in the comfort of your own home. The world may be more perfect than you think.
Nigel Henderson, an AA PGA golf professional has been living and working in the Algarve for four years. He offers home golf lessons and, to help improve and teach you, he brings his golf net and offers a technological solution to understanding why you are not hitting the perfect shot with his video and computer visual feedback.
His teaching philosophy is to treat everyone as an individual and to keep everything simple and logical.
For him, everyone swings differently including the top players in the world, but the part of the swing where they are all similar is the impact with the ball. Understanding this area would greatly enhance a players ability to become more consistent.
Beginners will be shown the basics (aim, grip, stance and posture) and an introduction to the swing. Experienced players will be shown their swing using the latest swing analysis software.
This is a good way to get to know your own swing and will enable you to become familiar with it.
According to Nigel, “you do not have to go to the driving range to learn or improve your swing. Let the pro come to you.”
