A complimentary sterilisation campaign is being offered to dogs in the Aljezur area until August 15. Organised by the Associação Ecologista e Zoófila de Aljezur (AEZA), with great support from Aljezur Câmara, the campaign is being funded by Internationaler Tieschutzverein Grenzelos e.v., a German organisation for animal welfare.
The objective is to avoid the uncontrollable breeding of dogs, especially abandoned ones, as new puppies born into this atmosphere have very little chance of enjoying happy lives.
