Aljezur council has unanimously approved a proposal to pay for the bus passes of local students who have to attend secondary school outside the borough.
The council estimates that there are around 100 students enrolled in secondary schools in neighbouring municipalities, mainly in Lagos.
The measure is expected to save families a “significant amount of money”.
