Frankenstein the Pantomime rehearsals

It will soon be pantomime time again (Oh yes it will) for the Algarveans theatre group who this year have chosen “Frankenstein the Pantomime’, written by David Swan.

There are lots of different characters involved from Heidi (principal girl) and Prince Ludwig (principal boy) to Dame Nellie (a headmistress with her St. Trinian pupils creating havoc), Count Dracula and his gummy grandma, Professor Crackpot, Kodak the dog, superhero Frankie and many more. It has all the hallmarks of a very traditional pantomime with the forces of evil finally being beaten by the good guys.

Auditions will be on Tuesday, September 29 with rehearsals starting soon after. “The time and place will be confirmed nearer the time but will probably be in the Lagoa area,” the Algarveans informed in a press release. “Also, of course, we will be looking for help with building a set, painting it, making props and costumes and lots of other fun things.”

The production is planned to take place in February.
