Fragilisation of SNS caused unnecessary deaths, says economist

The “fragilisation” of the SNS health service – due to decades of underinvestment – “caused deaths that could have been avoided” at the start of the pandemic. It also led to the “enormous destruction of the economy”. This is the opinion of economist Eugénio Rosa who explains that the degradation of the country’s health service is what led (to the need for) successive lockdowns.
