Four youths were arrested in the early hours of Sunday morning in Faro after twice attacking a 17-year-old – the second time in the “baixa” district.
What appears to have happened is that the gang came upon their victim as he walked alone near the town’s football stadium.
They are described as “demanding everything of value” that he had on him, and then making off in an Opel Corsa after giving the boy “several punches to the face”.
According to a report in Correio da Manhã, they then came face-to-face with their victim once again, in the ‘baixa’ area of town, where they attacked him even more ferociously, kicking him in the face and abdomen.
The 17-year-old was assisted by INEM and then taken to Faro Hospital where he was found to have a broken nose.
Police finally brought his attackers to ground near Jardim Manuel Bívar. They were described as being found in their car.
