Four Olhanense players, goalkeeper Ventura, Castro, Ukra and Rabiola, were in the starting line-up for this Under-21 European Championship qualifier against group leaders Greece.
Following an impressive 4-1 win against Lithuania last month, the team travelled to Greece in confident mood but were beaten by a 91st minute goal.
A disappointing first half saw the visitors go 1-0 down. After half-time, Portugal were more positive and, on 83 minutes, a through ball from Ukra enabled Miguel Vitor to equalise. Greece snatched an undeserved victory with virtually the last kick of the game.
Team play non-league Valenciano
On Sunday, Olhanense make the long journey to northern Portugal to play Level III side Valenciano in the 3rd round of the Millenium Cup, the equivalent of the FA Cup.
The next Liga Sagres game is away to Belenenses in Lisbon on Friday October 23. Coaches leave Olhão at 2pm on the Friday and anyone interested in making the trip should contact Emily Richardson 939 486 870. The return fare is 18 euros.
