Four towns in the Algarve – Paderne (Albufeira), Alte (Loulé), Cachopo (Tavira) and Parises (São Brás de Alportel) – have been pre-selected to become part of a national network of traditional towns known as ‘Aldeias de Portugal’.
The initiative, created by Portugal’s village tourism association (ATA), aims to shine the spotlight on Portugal’s most authentic and traditional towns and villages and help them develop into tourist attractions whilst maintaining their charm.
