FORUM ALGARVE in Faro raised 38,377.73 euros from its 2007 Christmas Campaign. The money will be used to support an educational programme about the environment under a special agreement signed with Faro Câmara and the local library.
Skate today for tomorrow’s environment was the theme for this year’s Christmas fundraising campaign from the shopping outlet. As a result, a new space dedicated to the study of nature is to be built in the Faro Municipal Library and all the Faro schools are to receive an ‘environment kit’, with information about good practices for the effective preservation of the planet.
The campaign started in early November and ran for two months with an ice skating rink in the main square of the Forum.
The centre also collected old toys from visitors, who placed them at a special container named Brinquedão. These were delivered to Refúgio Aboim Ascenção, a children’s home in Faro.
