Forum Algarve to host urban dance competition

Forum Algarve shopping centre in Faro is preparing to host a “unique championship completely dedicated to urban dances and dancehall” between Friday and Sunday (July 22-24).

Says the shopping centre, a panel of national and international jury members – including some of the “most renowned contemporary dancers and choreographers” – are travelling to the Algarve for the Forum Urban Dance, which will feature dozens of dancers throughout the weekend.

Dancers will compete in a ‘battle’ format on Friday, while on Saturday they will be judged as ‘crews’. The event ends on Sunday with activities taking place all over Faro.

“The outdoor space that Forum Algarve boasts has been, over the years, a venue for music, art, dance and countless other activities which culturally enrich us,” said Forum Algarve manager Sérgio Santos.

“It is the first time that this event takes place, with a completely different format in unique surroundings, which leaves us very proud and hoping that it will return for several editions,” he added.
