Fortress facelift

Portugal’s secretary of state for tourism, Bernardo Trindade, has approved a budget of 1.8 million euros for renovation works on Sagres Fortress.

According to Bernardo Trindade, “the work will allow the refurbishment of the most visited monument in the Algarve, which attracts around half a million people a year, 70 per cent of whom are foreigners”.

The work is due to last until December and includes the refurbishment of the road and accesses leading to the monument and new multimedia equipment for visitors.
