SAGRES FORTRESS is expected to remain closed to the public until the reconstruction works of the building and its surroundings is concluded.
The project has an estimated budget of about 10 million euros. The construction works are expected to start in 2008 and include the refurbishment of S. Vicente Cape fortress, the building of a new museum and several works on the fortress walls and surroundings.
Until this is all done, the most visited monument of the Algarve region is to remain closed.
