Henrique Gouveia e Melo became a household name in Portugal - a symbol of 'how to get things done'

Former vaccine Czar and head of Navy becomes target of threats

Admiral Gouveia e Melo – the man whose control of Portugal’s Covid-19 vaccination programme projected the country into the international limelight – has been sent numerous anonymous ‘threats’ since his remarks about the two Naval marines suspected of the murder of a young PSP agent. All media channels today have picked up on the story. PJ police are ‘investigating’. The threats appear to have come from ‘bodyguards’ from Lisbon, known to have been close associates with the two men who have since been expelled from the marines.
