Former President of Portugal Mário Soares, aged 88, who was admitted to Luz Hospital in Lisbon with flu on January 12 has been released.
He had remained in care until Tuesday 22 after doctors diagnosed a brain infection probably caused by the persistent flu.
When he was hospitalised on Saturday he seemed a little “disorientated” which led doctors to suspect that they were dealing with a more complicated clinical condition.
