Former Interior Minister Eduardo Cabrita is being formally heard as a suspect today in the motorway death of roadworker Nuno Santos. Mr Cabrita has always maintained he had nothing to do with the accident as he was “just a passenger”. This is not the understanding of authorities, however, as his role/ public responsibility at the time technically puts him as the person ‘in charge’ of the car that hit and killed Mr Santos.
