Anti-corruption activist and former MEP Ana Gomes has seen herself cited as an ‘arguida’ in a case brought against her for defamation by Douro Azul shipping boss Mário Ferreira.
Ferreira has always warned that he would come after Gomes for comments made when she had ‘parliamentary immunity’ (click here).
Gomes meantime is bullish, tweeting that this is an attempt to intimidate her for denouncing ‘schemes’ at Viana do Castelo shipyard.
Ana Gomes is no stranger to defamation cases (click here), but she invariably stands by every word she says and claims to have copious documentation to prove her comments.
