Foreigner “wanted by Interpol for murder and bomb attackts” arrested in Algarve hotel

An Indian man, described as “dangerous and violent”, has been taken into custody from an Algarve hotel.

The 40-year-old is being sought by Indian authorities for murder and bomb attacks, writes Lusa news agency.

SEF police were backed by an international extradition warrant issued by Interpol, and moved in last night (Friday).

It is not clear at this point which hotel the 40-year-old India was staying at. Lusa simply says he is now in police custody and due to go before the court of appeal in Évora later this morning.

This arrest comes the day after news that three jihadists involved in the Paris terror attacks last month which killed 130 people could be on the run through Portugal.
