Foreign Minister Paulo Portas predicts Chinese investment boom in “many virtually unexplored areas”

The investment boom that has attracted Chinese to Portugal in huge numbers in the last few years is expected to continue, largely because China is seen here “without mistrust”, claims foreign minister Paulo Portas, and “as an especially hardworking and capable partner”.

Portas was talking to “Diário de Todos”, the new bi-lingual Chinese-Portuguese newspaper launched in Lisbon this week. Portas predicted future investment opportunities existed in Portugal in “many virtually unexplored areas”.
