Football stars give a helping hand

Project || Centre Algarve, a holiday home for people with special needs near Moncarapacho, will soon be receiving its first visitors as finishing touches are being put in place at the complex.
Last week seven Tottenham Hotspur legends helped raise €7,500 for the Centre at a Charity Golf Day at the Hertfordshire Golf & Country Club, Broxbourne UK.
Northern Ireland goalkeeping legend Pat Jennings, John Pratt, John Lacy, Paul Miller, Micky Hazard, Graham Roberts and the Argentinean internationals Ricky Villa and Ossie Ardiles – between them they made 1,780 league appearances for the London club – gave their support and have promised to give further help by visiting the Centre and staging a golf event in the Algarve.
Ricky Villa’s 1981 Cup Final winning goal was voted ‘Wembley Goal of the Century’ whilst Pat Jennings made nearly 500 league appearances for Spurs, before joining Arsenal, and won over a hundred caps for Northern Ireland.
Centre Algarve is fully equipped with the latest facilities and will give families and special needs school groups from both the UK and Portugal the opportunity to take a holiday confidently knowing that the facilities have been specially designed for them.
