Foot found

A human foot found washed ashore near Vila Nova de Gaia, northern Portugal on January 2, has not been identified by the authorities.

According to Portuguese newspaper Correio da Manhã, DNA testing is being carried out on the foot, with several families of missing fishermen having been contacted to identify the body part.

A spokesman from the Polícia Judiciária told the Algarve Resident that no information is being released on this case.

Hundreds of dead octopuses were also found washed ashore as well as a dog and a dolphin, samples of which have been collected for analysis.
