Portugal’s Food Bank Against Hunger is holding a new food collection campaign in supermarkets this weekend, stressing its “decisive importance” at a time of “increasing difficulties” caused by rising interest rates and inflation. The campaign, running through Saturday and Sunday has the theme ‘Hope’, to underline the capacity of individual contributions “to improve the lives of others, with a simple gesture of sharing, especially in the context of an economic and social crisis that is likely to worsen over the coming months”.
