Portugal’s Food Bank Against Hunger branch urged the government earlier this week to ensure continuous funding following the end of Europe’s food support plan in the country, which willcut food aid by around half.A new support fund has been announced for the 2014-2020 period. A member of the Food Bank stated that he hoped the government had already prepared the implementation of the programme in order to avoid funding interruptions in January, when the current support programme reaches its end.
