Food and wine fair attracts top chefs and winemakers

Dozens of wine and gourmet food producers will be joining the 22 award-winning chefs taking part in Vila Vita Parc’s “Fine Wines & Food Fair” on May 6, 7, 8 and 10. On May 9, there will also be a “Kitchen Party” consisting of a stand-up dinner with interactive stations for chefs and wine producers.

The gastronomic event is now “complete with some of the best wines, spirits and gourmet foods on offer for guests”, say organisers.

Portuguese wines take centre stage, from the Algarve to Madeira, passing through Melgaço, Douro, Vila Nova de Gaia, Dão and the Alentejo.

Winemaker Luís Duarte, the host, will also welcome other industry partners: Dalva Port Wines, Decante Vinhos, Quinta do Soalheiro, Quinta de Lemos, Rozès, Vinhos Barbeito, Wine & Soul, Prime Wine, Ideal Drinks and Sovipral.

And for the first time Luís Duarte will showcase the new wines from Quinta de Valbom in the Douro region, also part of the Vila Vita Portugal group.

Included in the list of wines and spirits are Weingut am Nil and Weingut Markus Schneider (Germany), Blue Gin and Weingut Tement (Austria), Juvé y Camps (Spain), Vranken Pommery and Chanson Père et Fils (France), Simonsig (South Africa) and Niizawa Sake Brewing Co. (Japan).

There will also be six gourmet partners, artisan beer by Cervejas Dux, artisan cheeses from Queijaria Cheese Shop & Bar (Portugal), the Best Ham in the World by Joselito (Spain) and the original collection of wine chocolates by Cacao di Vine (Portugal).

A five-course tasting menu with wine pairing costs €295 per person, while the Kitchen Party (including selected beverages) costs €225 per person.
