Members and friends of the Chaîne des Rôtisseurs met last Friday for dinner at the Dutch owned Restaurant Florian in Almancil.

Chef Piet Warink presented a five course meal to all 38 attendees of the evening.

Dinner began with small towers of home smoked salmon wrapped in a bread crust, garnished with avruga caviar, followed by a crab cake made from kamsjatk crab with wasabi.

Tuna from Olhão was then served with black pepper, in addition to cheek of ibérico pork on a bed of sauerkraut.

To conclude the meal guests were served individual apple pies with vanilla ice cream.

Five wines by James Frost from his family estate, Quinta de Sant’Ana in Lisbon, were available to guests.
