This weekend (august 5 and 6), the village of Cortelha in Loulé will explode with colour and life, with the return of the Manjares Serranos and the Folklore Festival of Serra do Caldeirão. Organised by the Associação dos Amigos da Cortelha, the festival will present on Saturday, from 9.30pm, typical dishes and sweets from the area in the Salir Junta de Freguesia.
The following day, from 4pm, singers from all over the country will participate in an exhibition, displaying traditional national costumes and customs. Due to the support of Loulé Câmara, the organisers are expecting a large attendance. So, go on, indulge yourself in Portuguese culture, from the past and present, in the cool, quiet mountains of Cortelha.
