Tuesday, December 10 was our last competitive bowls game before Christmas, and a beautiful day it was too, with the very last Cameron Cup for this year.
Albufeira took four points from Valverde who won two points; Balaia won five points from Alvor who won one point; whilst Pedras won four points from Tavira who won two points. Floresta were the resting team this week.
The Table has Floresta remaining at the top with 30 points, Pedras in second place with a very creditable 22 points, and third place goes to Albufeira on 20 points. Congratulations to Floresta, who are this year’s winners of the Cameron Cup. A competition specifically implemented by Tavira Bowling Club to encourage the ladies in each club to take part.
Well done to the Floresta team who have bowled consistently well since the beginning of the season – a well-deserved win.
As there are no more games until the beginning of January, I shall be signing off until then. I hope all bowlers in the Algarve, whether celebrating the festive season here or away, have a wonderful Christmas and a happy, healthy New Year to you all.
