A fire in a carnival float from the Sangue Jovem School in Santos, on the coast of São Paulo, Brazil, caused at least four deaths and six people injured on Tuesday morning. According to the Fire Brigade Military Police from Santos, the fire occurred in a float that already had paraded on the streets and was being dismantled when it touched a power grid aerial and received a high voltage electrical discharge.
The accident also caused a power cut in the neighbourhood.
After the tragedy, the mayor of Santos cancelled the carnival parade.
